CATESOL Education Foundation Grants
Amount
Varies from about $130 to $250 for a two-year student membership in CATESOL and registration at two chapter or regional CATESOL conferences and registration at one state CATESOL conference (or equivalent materials fees if registration is being funded by an alternative source) for six students per academic year.

This scholarship was established by the CATESOL Education Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures TESOL Program to promote leadership and professional development of post-baccalaureate and graduate students enrolled in the Cal State Fullerton TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate and Master's degree programs.
Open To
This grant is open to any matriculated TESOL Certificate or Master's degree student with a minimum 3.0 GPA with at least 3 semesters remaining in his/her degree program.
Application Procedure
To apply, submit a 2-page double-spaced statement of interest to the TESOL Coordinator. In your statement, 1) Discuss your interest in developing leadership skills in the CATESOL organization and your interest in attending CATESOL conferences, 2) Describe your background experience and talents that may relate to serving on CATESOL Conference Committees such as hospitality, exhibits, photography, program organization, evaluation, audio-visual, social media, etc. or CATESOL offices such as conference organizer, level chair, secretary, treasurer, etc. 3) Describe how your graduate studies or work experience may relate to plans to give a CATESOL conference poster presentation, demonstration, research report, workshop, panel, etc. or write a publication for a CATESOL publication such as the CATESOL Journal or the CATESOL News.
Combine your statement with a copy of your academic transcript of all college work including evidence of work in progress (a TDA(Titan Degree Audit) can be obtained from TITAN Online) and send to:

Nancy Terry Baden Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Professor Emeritus Nancy T. Baden ("Terry"), a longtime faculty member in the Department of Modern Languages and Literature, to promote effective preparation of teachers of English.

This scholarship is open to graduate students enrolled in the Cal State Fullerton TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program.

Application Procedure
1) Complete the SA application, answer all 7 questions, and sign certification;
2) Write a 300 word typed essay regarding your future career plans in TESOL;
3) Provide two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from a CSUF faculty member);
4) Provide a copy of your academic transcript of all college work including evidence of work in progress (a TDA (Titan Degree Audit) can be obtained from TITAN Online); and
5) Submit application and materials to Chair, Dept. of Modern Languages & Literatures, California State University Fullerton, 800 N. State College Blvd.
