HSS Peer Mentor Overview
Peer Mentors serve in one section of a 3-unit HSS 100 credit/no credit course where they act as a resource, support system, and role model to about 25 first-time HSS freshmen. Through interactive workshops related to campus resources and one-on-one meetings with students, HSS 100 Peer Mentors support students with both in and out of the classroom experiences for the entire fall 2020 semester.

Deadline: Friday, April 17, 2020 by 4pm
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour/ 10 hours per week
Position Time Commitment: August 10, 2020 – December 11, 2020

Requirements
- H&SS major
- Cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher
- Junior or Senior class standing
- Knowledge of HSS and campus resources
Mandatory Meeting/Training
- August 10-14, 2020 from 9am-4pm: Participate in Peer Mentor Summer Training
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in all HSS 100 meeting times
- Meet regularly with the HSS 100 instructor
- Schedule and meet one-on-one with each HSS student in your assigned HSS 100 section
- Participate and encourage students to attend HSS programs and events
- Work cooperatively with other HSS Peer Mentors and the Student Success Team
- Other duties as assigned
