Online Learning Definitions
Synchronous online class - means that at the days and times listed on the class schedule students will be expected to be available for class meetings.
Asynchronous online class - means that the class will not require students to be present at the same dates and times.
Combo class - indicates a fully online class that has some synchronous sessions and other asynchronous requirements.
Web only, two varieties:
1. All instruction done asynchronously (will not go face-to-face this semester)
2. Some or all instruction done synchronously (will not go face-to-face this semester)
Face-to-face class or Virtual class - means that when campus reopens to instruction, the class will be shifted to in-person instruction after a virtual start. It is face-to-face when campus is open, but when campus closes due to an emergency, face-to-face courses become virtual.Synchronous online class - means that at the days and times listed on the class schedule students will be expected to be available for class meetings.
