The enthusiasm and knowledgeability of my WGST professors have provided me with not just confidence in my intellectual abilities but a unique skillset for future endeavors. Especially during these strange circumstances, it is a bittersweet time to be leaving CSUF. However, receiving this scholarship is a meaningful affirmation of my dedication and academic efforts throughout my time here. |

I am so grateful to receive this award. This department has shaped me and pushed me to see more in myself. I hope to get many more degrees, but this department will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ll make sure to mention the impact it has had on me in my presidential inauguration speech!(: |

As a graduating senior and recipient of the Student Scholar of the Year award, I want to thank the Women and Gender Studies Department for everything they have done for me and for placing me on a path that allowed me to meet many of their amazing students and professors. The department has gone above and beyond to teach their students the meaning of women and gender studies and the power that comes with that knowledge. Que se note y se demuestre el poder de la mujer! Gracias por todo! |

I am very excited about my award and happy I was able to share this experience with the communities I work with. As a second year Women & Gender Studies major I am optimistic on what the future holds and ready to learn more. I feel like this major is a part of who I am and it allows me to understand the history and advocacy of women is important to me because I want to defy gender norms. |

Immensely honored to be recognized by the Women & Gender and Queer Studies department as the Activist of the Year for my passion and work on campus fighting for our communities and a better world. I’ve blossomed into the activist, advocate, and ally I am because of WGST/QS’s amazing and radical professors, pedagogy, and community. |

During my first few years of college, I didn’t have the motivation or confidence to apply for scholarships such as this. Now, since I’ve become a Women and Gender Studies major, I feel inspired to make the effort to achieve more for myself and for my future. To me, being given this scholarship is a sign that I’m on the right path, and I am extremely grateful and honored to receive it. |

Being a recipient of the Students as Family Caregiver Scholarship has made a huge impact in my life because as a sole provider for my family I can now focus on spending more authentic time with them; if there is one thing that COVID-19 has taught me it is that these moments are invaluable. Thank you to the Women and Gender Studies/ Queer Studies departments for giving me the opportunity to be there more for my family, it would not be possible without you. |

I would like to thank the WGST department for awarding me this scholarship. This scholarship will help me better focus on my future law career, since I will be starting the application process in this upcoming fall semester. I cannot wait to apply all of the knowledge I have accumulated from my WGST courses to my future law career. |

It is an honor to be recognized by the department for the Student Family Caregiver Scholarship in my work for caring for my community and family. I do this through breaking cycles of generational trauma and healing myself, family and community while practicing Transformative Justice (TJ). TJ and the radical teaching of WGST professors has empowered me in productive conversations of stigmatized topics that are necessary not only in my community, but in my family dynamic as well. |
Wibol Chhoeung Student as Family Caregiver Scholarship As I complete my education at CSUF, I am very thankful for receiving your thoughtful gift. I will be able to use the scholarship towards lightening my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on the essential aspects of school. |

I am honored to be one of three recipients of the Evy Bauman Award. My participation in the Cal State Fullerton Women and Gender Studies Department has not only enriched my ability to integrate feminist epistemology but has introduced me various women-fronted organizations I have utmost admiration for such as INCITE! and Critical Resistance. |
Cristal Chavez Diaz
Going through the Women and Gender Studies program has shown me a variety of worldly perspectives and it has been an honor to have been mentored by the faculty and staff. As a graduating senior, I am thankful to be granted the Evy Bauman Award to continue to learn and further my education. |

Hi my name is Jacqueline Vergara. I am history and women studies major. I have been awarded the Evy Bauman Award. My experience in the Women/Gender Department is a life changing experience. I am happy to have the pleasure to have such awesome professors and classmates. I am glad I join WGQSSA club this semester even thought it was for a short time I had a great time with my club members and E board members. An experience I enjoyed was writing about my masculinity, about my family and the feminist symposium. |

First and foremost, I am beyond honored to be a recipient of this Diane Ross Scholarship opportunity. Selecting Women and Gender Studies as a major was really an eye-opener for me and has really changed my perspective on how I view the world and carry on with society. I am thankful for this area of academic study and all the friendships this major has offered through their faculty and resources because now I know my value and my education’s worth. Once again, I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity that the WGST/QS faculty has offered me. |

I am so thankful as a first-generation student for not only the opportunity to have a scholarship that recognizes the hard work of students like myself but for the chance to expand my knowledge on social issues. The WGST and Queer Studies department has changed my outlook and thought process on global issues while educating me on things I can use in my future career. I am so appreciative of these departments and the faculty involved for showing me what college and education are supposed to be like.. |

I want to thank the WGST faculty for selecting me to receive the Diane Ross Scholarship. Through Women and Gender Studies at CSUF, I obtained the tools needed to understand and think critically about the world we live in. Although my college experience was not easy, I found a home within the WGST department and greatly appreciate all that I have gained at Cal State Fullerton. |
