Requirements for the Minor 

Minor in Latin American Studies

The undergraduate minor program is designed to complement academic fields for which a focus on Latin America can be beneficial. In consultation with the coordinator, students minoring in Latin American Studies must complete the following: 

  • Proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese
    • SPAN 204, PORT 102, or equivalency

  • 3 units of History and Culture
    • LTAM 300, HIST 350, SPAN 316, or PORT 325

  • 9 units of approved electives
