Dr. Davorn Sisavath

Assistant Professor

My interdisciplinary research and teaching focus on U.S. militarism, science, technology and warfare, environmental pollution, and Southeast Asian and Asian American histories. I am currently at work on my book manuscript that examines metallic violence in postwar spaces, including Laos, Iraq, and the US. Using both exploratory and explanatory research designs, I explain what emerges after war and how the impact of war has been shown to linger in different forms: environmental degradation, ruined infrastructures, and revitalization of war metals. My writing has appeared in Radical History Review, Journal of Transnational American Studies, Anthropological Quarterly, and Critical Ethnic Studies Journal. Before joining CSU Fullerton, I was an assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology and co-coordinator of the Asian American Studies Program at California State University-Fresno.

Ph.D., Ethnic Studies, University of California, San Diego
