Karunya joined the SSRC in November 2021 as a Research Assistant. She is a full-time graduate student studying viral gene resistance in plants in a molecular biology/virology lab. She was promoted to an Executive Research Assistant in May 2023 followed by a promotion to Shift Lead Assistant in August 2023. Currently, she oversees daily operations of the CATI lab, supervises the research assistants, and aids with other project-related tasks.
