Academic advising is an important tool for your academic success while at CSUF. We encourage students to meet with their major advisor at least once a year. See below for
some of the questions or concerns a major advisor can answer for you. 

Meet An Advisor

 

Reasons to meet with your major advisor:

• Questions about your major or general education requirements
• Academic challenges and concerns
• A course you completed is not showing up in the correct area in your major
• Determining appropriate upper division writing courses for your major
• Major and minor exploration
• Graduation requirements
• University policies

• Questions about Academic Notice
• You need assistance withdrawing from a course
• You are filing for retroactive withdrawal
• You are filing for a medical withdrawal
• You are seriously struggling with academics
• Your major, CSUF, or cumulative GPA is below a 2.0
