Summer 2013 in Costa Rica

Costa Rica Bridge

Coronado, Costa Rica

Located just 20 minutes south of the capital, Coronado is a small province with beautiful natural landscapes. It is centrally located and facilitates access to many local attractions. In 1948, Costa Rica abolished its military, which redirected its resources to education and infrastructure. As a result, its citizens have enjoyed a more peaceful existence and a higher standard of living than neighboring Central American nations. And, with its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, Costa Rica has emerged as Latin America's flagship nation for nature-based tourism.
