Brief
biography: I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007. My research examines the role of social and cultural capital in the educational advancement and success of first-generation college students. Before joining CSUF, I worked at various research institutes including the UC Berkeley Center for Working Families, the UCLA Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST), the National Institute of Psychiatry (Social Sciences Division) in Mexico City, Mexico, and the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute (TRPI).
