Desktop/Laptop Recommendations for Faculty, Staff and Students

The College of H&SS has partnered up with Titan shops to offer laptops specifically configured with software used in the College. This program is called “Let your major be your guide” and is aimed at providing laptops to student based on his or her major at a discounted price. Faculty and staff who are interested in purchasing individual desktops or laptops for personal use can talk one on one with H&SS IT. We can provide recommendations specifically tailored to your situation. Perhaps you just secured a grant and want to invest in technology. Let us help. Network Printer Recommendation

Does your department have a need to provide printing to multiple computers? Would you rather not buy a bunch of cheap individual printers that take up excess room and waste ink? A networked printer is the answer. These high performing and high capacity printers can easily support multiple computers. Network printers are ideal for computer labs and office complexes. Redeployed Computer Request

Full time faculty and staff receive campus issued computing devices. Department information technology coordinators need only to fill out a request form found here to have Central IT issue a rollout computer and printer. Click here for a description of what is currently available. Faculty and staff are eligible for a rollout when first hired.

H&SS IT understands that many times a department has a need for a computer that is not covered by the Central IT Rollout program. For these situations we offer a computer that we can deploy to your employee. Temporary staff, student assistants, student or faculty labs, and part time offices are covered under the H&SS IT redeployed computer program. Please fill out an H&SS IT redeployed computer request form to get started. You will need to log in with you campus user name and password.

Recycling and Disposing of Unwanted IT Equipment

The College promotes recycling and sustainability practices when disposing of electronic equipment and printer/toner cartridges. The University provides guidance and services when disposing of equipment. Click here for a complete list of recyclable items and contact information. The H&SS IT Services group can assist specifically when disposing of IT equipment. We will help you through the process and even removal all personal data from any old computer you wish to remove.
