Brief
biography: I was born and raised in
Japan. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology from
Kyoto University, I came to the United States
and received a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University
of Chicago. I was a post-doctoral researcher
at University of California, Irvine and University
of Nevada, Reno before joining CSUF in 2001.
Even though my main research interest remains
visual perception, I have been also enjoying
the expansion of my research into correlational
studies of hearing behaviors and auditory thresholds
and developing the Japanese version of well-established
negative mood regulation
(NMR) expectancies in collaboration with Dr. Jack Mearns.
