Dr. David Gerkens

Teaching interests: Cognitive Psychology, Research Design, Web-based Data Collection, Sensation & Perception, Introductory Psychology

Research interests: Memory:  Blocked memories, recovered memories, false memories, autobiographical memories, and factors that influence memory formation, accessibility, and meta-memory.  Creative cognition.

Brief biography: I received my Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 2004.  I spent one year at Mississippi State University as a visiting assistant professor before coming to CSUF in the fall of 2005.  Since arriving at CSUF I have maintained an active research lab and presented research at the annual meeting of the Western Psychological Association with student co-authors every spring.
