Entrance Exam Information and Links
Administered by the Law School Admissions
Council, this exam is required by all
students applying to an accredited law
program.
Format: Paper,5
multiple-choice sections, 35 minutes each,
plus 35 minute essay question.
Sections: Two Logical
Reasoning sections, one Logic Games section,
one Reaching Comprehension section, one
Experimental section (unscored), plus essay.
Dates offered: Four times
per year, typically every June, October,
December, and February. Upcoming dates are
October 6, 2001; December 1, 2001; February
9, 2001; June 10, 2002, October 5, 2002;
December 7, 2002; February 8, 2002. Tests are
always on Saturday, with accommodations for
Saturday Sabbath observers. Registration
deadlines are one month in advance; late
registration is ~three weeks in advance.

registration $54 additional).

The Graduate Record Exam is widely used by
both professional and academic graduate
programs.
Format: Computer Adaptive
Test
Sections: Verbal (30
minutes); Analytic (60 minutes); Quantitative
(45 minutes). Beginning October 2002 a
Writing analysis section consisting of one
45-minute essay and a 30-minute essay will
replace the Analytic section.
Dates offered: First
three weeks of each month. You select day and
location when you register--first come, first
served. Plan far ahead, especially during
busy months November through January. You may
only take the test once per month, even if
you cancel your score.

three sections plus writing section.

(100 minutes); Biological Sciences (100

Dates offered: The MCAT
is offered only twice per year. Registration
information is typically given out through
Pre-Med Advisors.
