MANAGEMENT INTERN
Department: City Manager's Office | City of Lake Forest
The Management Intern position is in the City Manager's Office and is scheduled to work 10 - 20 hours per week, subject to a flexible schedule approved by the Supervisor. The incumbent will need to commit to a minimum of six months of employment with the City.
CSMFO Student Outreach
California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) is offering free student membership, valid through December 2020. Membership includes free attendance to Chapter Meetings held in the form of lunch training sessions, registration of internship interest and availability, access to the CSMFO job bulletin board, and access to the CSMFO listserv.
CSMFO is also offering student scholarships to the annual conference held in January. This year the conference will be held at Disneyland with a private event at Cars Land. The conference includes keynote speakers, access to a variety of finance related breakout training sessions, networking opportunities, and meals. The scholarship includes free attendance to the conference, the opportunity to pair with a mentor, and a daily $50.00 per diem for expenses.

Under general direction, performs a full range of complex communications, marketing, and community relations programs for the City; promotes the City and increases awareness of City operations, services, events, and programs; writes, edits, and designs a variety of public information materials; fosters community support for City operations and activities; and coordinates assigned activities with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and the public.
This position requires a specialized knowledge and understanding of public relations, marketing, outreach, communications, and community information needs. Advanced interpersonal and mass communication, writing and presentation skills are required. Work requires creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish City's vision, goals, and objectives. This position may be required to attend evening and weekend meetings/events.
