PERSIAN
By studying Persian in the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at CSUF, you will discover a rich language and culture dating back some 2,500 years. You will also gain a competitive edge in today’s global economy.
Persian was the language of ancient cultures across Western and Central Asia. Today, Persian continues to be spoken widely throughout the same region in the form of three main dialects: Farsi in Iran, Dari in Afghanistan, and Tajik in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Persian language and culture have a direct relationship with Persian literature, and this relationship is introduced from the very beginning in language and culture classes.
The Department regularly offers Persian 101 and Persian 102 in a fully online format.
