Associate Editor’s Note, June, 2007

As I welcome you to our new issue, it is my sad duty to inform you of the sudden passing of our founding editor, Alan S. Kaye.  I am among many who have had the privilege of knowing and learning from Professor Kaye during his distinguished career as a scholar and teacher, and it was my great pleasure to work closely with him.  His influence on those who worked and studied with him is inestimable, and we mourn his passing.

The following link leads to an article about Kaye’s life and accomplishments:

I would like to add to the information found there that Professor Kaye particularly emphasized the book review as a valuable means of contributing to the field, and during his career he was a prolific reader and reviewer.  It is our hope to continue in that tradition.

 Sincerely,

 Robert D. Angus
