Teaching interests: History of art and music; modern social theory

Research interests: Bronze Age Crete and the Ancient Near East; connections between art and science in the 20th century; archaeological theory

Brief biography: PhD in art history from New York University's Institute of Fine Arts in 1984 with major in Greek and Roman Art and minors in Ancient Near Eastern and Byzantine Art; JD from UCLA in 1988; Recipient of Kervorkian Fellowship at the Metopolitan Museum of Art and the Pomerance Award in Aegean Archaeology; CSUF Award for Outstanding Collaborative Teaching.
