Every Liberal Studies student is eligible to become an
active member of the Liberal Studies Student Association.
The association plans and participates in cultural
and learning activities (such as trips to museums and
concerts),
social activities (such as the Liberal Studies Student-Faculty
Potluck, the Liberal Studies Student Awards Banquet,
the Liberal Studies Commencement Reception), and activities
related to academic life (study group formation and
informative talks and discussions with experts and
professors). These
are activities that help create a small college atmosphere
at a large state university. LSSA officers also play
an active role in the administration of the Department
of Liberal Studies as student representatives at Liberal
Studies Department meetings.
