1. Mission
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences Technical
Support Group (TSG) plays an integral role
in identifying opportunities for the college to meet
its goals through the strategic use of technology. Using
both proven standards and innovative methods, H&SS
TSG provides faculty and staff with access to hardware,
software, and training which support teaching/learning,
clinical, research, service, and administrative processes. TSG
is committed to foster and encourage College of H&SS
faculty, students and staff to use technology effectively.
In pursuit of this mission, Technical Support Group:
- Will maintain a modern, reliable and secure computing
environment
- Support the use of information technology to enable
academic innovation in teaching and learning
- Anticipate and satisfy the needs of the College of
Humanities and Social Sciences community in a timely
and cost effective manner
- Provide professional expertise that enables extensive
and essential use of information technology
- Provide support for internal and external educational
communities, including partnerships and grant
related entities
- Provide a medium to enhance communication between
University staff, faculty, students, and external communities
- Promote the use of a variety of appropriate technologies
in achieving the educational goals of the College of
H&SS

HSS Technical Support
Group provides support for HSS computer labs (H326a,
H325, H422, H512), smart classrooms (H110, H123), part-time
faculty offices and suites, department and college purchased
computer, printers, projectors, and other educational
technologies. Support for full-time staff and
faculty and their RollOut computer and printer
is the responsibility of the HelpDesk,
ext. 7777.
