Study Abroad Scholarships
Leon and Annette Gilbert Study Abroad Scholarship
Amount: Two $500 awards
Established by: This scholarship was established and funded by Dr. Leon Gilbert and his wife Annette to assist students in meeting their educational expenses in a student program. Dr. Gilbert is a Professor Emeritus from the Modern Languages & Literature department. The recipients will be selected by a Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) scholarship committee.
Open to: This scholarship is open to continuing HSS students who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and have been accepted to a California State University sponsored study abroad program.
Criteria: 2.5 GPA
Application Procedure: 1) Complete the SA application, answering all 7 questions, and sign the certification; and 2) Submit application to College of Humanities and Social Sciences, H-211, Dean’s Office Scholarship Committee.
Application Deadline: March 17 (for Summer); June 2 (for Fall); November 15 (for Spring)
International Leadership Scholarship
Amount: $500
Established by: This scholarship was established by the Alumni Association and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) to assist students in meeting educational expenses while studying in a California State University (CSU) sponsored Study Abroad program. Five $500 scholarships will be awarded; two scholarships for this summer term, one for the Fall semester, and one for the Spring semester.
Open to: This scholarship is open to currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at Cal State Fullerton’s College of HSS who have been accepted to a CSU sponsored Study Abroad program.
Criteria: 2.5 GPA • International leadership activities
Application Procedure: 1) Complete the SA application, answering all 7 questions, and sign the certification; 2) Write a 500-1000 word, typed statement that addresses, either: a) your current leadership activities which promote international understanding, or b) how you will use your study abroad experience as preparation for future international leadership activities; and 3) Submit application materials to H-211, Dean’s Office Scholarship Committee.
