Welcome to Summer 2012 in Dublin, Ireland
Why Study in Ireland?
Walk the streets of literary Dublin as you drink in its rich heritage and culture on this summer study abroad program. Follow in the footsteps of two of James Joyce's most well-known characters—Stephen Dedalus and Leopold Bloom. Stop for a Bloomian glass of burgundy and gorgonzola sandwich at Davy Byrne's, a pub immortalized in Ulysses that remains open today. Journey further north and discover the Dublin Writer's Museum—a celebration of the celebrated writers of Ireland, including four Nobel Prize winners for literature (W.B. Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, Samuel Beckett, and Seamus Heaney). Stop to see a play at the Abbey Theatre—The National Theatre of Ireland that first opened its doors in 1904 and helped to foster the Irish Literary Revival. On the way back to Trinity College, home of the Book of Kells, stop in a local pub and get caught up in some craic, or enjoyable conversation, with some of the locals.
