NATALIE FOUSEKIS
U.S. HISTORY
Dr. Fousekis teaches courses in modern U.S. history, grassroots politics, women’s history, and oral history. She serves as the Associate Director for the Center for Oral and Public History. She did her undergraduate work at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. Between college and graduate school, Dr. Fousekis worked in Washington DC first for the Grand Canyon Trust and then for Congresswoman Barbara Boxer. Dr. Fousekis received her Ph.D. in U.S. history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000. Currently, she is completing a book-length manuscript entitled, “Fighting for Our Children: Women’s Activism, the Battle Over Child Care, and the Politics of Welfare, 1940-1971.”
