Brief
biography: I received my BA from Zhengzhou University, MAs from Peking University and Northern Illinois University, and PhD from the University of Michigan. I specialise in early modern Southeast Asian History, particularly Sino-Southeast Asian overland interactions. In addition, I have a keen interest in early modern Asian and global history I received Visiting Felloships from Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore in 2003 and Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University in 2008.
