EPA Air Toxic monitoring methods.
- Ambient Monitoring
Technology Information Center : AMTIC
The Ambient Monitoring Technology Information Center (AMTIC)
is operated by EPA's Monitoring and Quality Assurance Group (MQAG).
AMTIC Contains information and files on ambient air quality trends and
programs, details on monitoring methods, relevant documents and articles,
information on air quality trends and nonattainment areas, and federal
regulations related to ambient air quality monitoring. - site intro.
Monitoring programs include: Air Toxics, PM Supersites, PM2.5 Monitoring,
PAMS, Visibility (IMPROVE), QA/QC, GEMS/AIR (WHO), Air Superfund, Environmental
Technology Verification (ETV), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) Data Analysis, National
Air Monitoring Strategy, and Standing Air Monitoring Work Group (SAMWG).
Monitoring Methods include: Criteria Pollutants, TO Compendium, IO Compendium,
Open Path, and Air Quality Index (AQI). Documents & Articles include:
Policy Memoranda/Technical Guidance, Current Articles, and ORD/NERL
Documents. Trends & Nonattainment and Regulations are also addressed.
- California Air
Quality Data
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) compiles data from
air quality monitoring stations located throughout California. Predefined
summaries of annual air quality data are available for Ozone, PM10,
and Toxics. The Year-to-Date Ozone includes preliminary 2000 ozone data
summaries for the five most populated regions in California and for
selected monitoring sites in those regions. The State & Local Air
Monitoring Network Plan (NAMS/SLAMS Report) provides the results of
the annual review of the air monitoring stations in California. These
stations house monitoring instruments that measure ambient levels of
gaseous and particulate air pollutants. Move from pollution to monitoring
National Atmospheric Deposition Program/National Trends Network (NADP/NTN)
A network of monitoring stations for acid rain. Shows concentrations:
sulfate, nitrate, ammonium, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, chlorine,
and nitrogen ions. Site specific, and some weekly, monthly and daily
data. The State & Local Air Monitoring Network Plan (NAMS/SLAMS
Report) provides the results of the annual review of the air monitoring
stations in California. These stations house monitoring instruments
that measure ambient levels of gaseous and particulate air pollutants.
The 2001 California Almanac of Emissions and Air Quality is now available
in Adobe Acrobat format. Other resources are also available.
- Designated
EPA Reference And Equivalent Methods
EPA monitoring methods for: PM, SO2, CO, NO2, O3, and Pb.
- EPA Zip Code
Search
The EPA Zip Code Search offers data on environmental monitoring
and environmental conditions by zip code. Enter a ZIP code, then select
the type of information you want to find. Zip code information is available
on: pollution, hazardous waste sites, and other regulatory information
(from Envirofacts); watershed conditions (from Surf Your Watershed);
live computer-generated map of regulated sites in zip code (from Enviromapper);
and ultraviolet (UV)index forecast (from SunWISE).
