  • Geo-Guide
    Geo-Guide is a subject gateway to online information sources on Earth Sciences (including Thematic Maps and Geography) and Mining. The main goal is to index and catalog "high quality" internet resources in a searchable database. Each resource is described with a set of metadata based on the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set in order to make records browseable in the Subject Catalog or the Source Type Catalog as well as searchable with local Search Options. New sources added continuously. Subjects: Geology, Mineralogy, Geophysics, Geography, Thematic Maps. Source Types: Universities, Data Collections, Bibliographies, Journals, Software. - Site intro.   • Geographic Names Information System
    Contains information about almost 2 million physical and cultural geographic features in the United States. The Federally recognized name of each feature described in the data base is identified, and references are made to a feature's location by State, county, and geographic coordinates - site intro.
