Environmental Sites: Climate
- An
Overview of Los Angeles Climate
The study offered in this publication was conducted by members of the
National Weather Service Forecast Office in Oxnard, California--which
serves the Los Angeles area. Our goal was to assemble the latest available
climatological data from as many reliable sources as possible for the
city of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. Our effort was designed
to provide a comprehensive view of Los Angeles climate, in a form and
scope never before attempted in a publication of this type. Much of
this work is original and is presented here for the first time. - Todd

- Population,
Land Use and Climate Estimates (PLACE)
SEDAC is pleased to announce the beta release of a new dataset, Population,
Land Use and Climate Estimates (PLACE). This dataset makes interdisciplinary
geospatial data usable by analysts who require data aggregated to the
national level. It includes estimates of the population and area within
distinct classifications of biomes, climate
zones, coasts, elevation, population density, and slope. The dataset
consists of aggregates of sub-national, geospatial data to the national
level in standard tabular format. - SEDAC News, Socioeconomic Data and
