Project (only) Details
Projects are NOT submitted to the Pollak Library,
but they are REQUIRED to be hard bound.
You must ensure that a hard bound copy of your project
is printed for the ENST office and that you have personally
made special arrangements to have the Titan bookstore
send a copy directly to the ENST office when it is
ready. Please refer to the new Project Guidelines Manual,
which is now available on the ENST website in PDF format.
Most of your questions should be answered there. Project
deadlines are typically set for the Friday just prior
to the start of exam week, but always double check
with the ENST Office for exact dates.
What is due in the ENST Office by the deadline?
• Notification of Completion form (form available on form page)
• Hard bound copy of project with approved and signed title page (or receipt
produced as proof that the project has been submitted for binding).
Thesis (only) Details
Submit Thesis to Graduate Studies Office……………Check
GSO website for deadline
Your Thesis must be entirely finished and ready to hand in by GSO
deadline (usually at least one month prior to end of semester) so that the Graduate
Studies Thesis Reader can review your thesis. The Thesis Reader will be looking
for all of the formatting issues that are set out in the Thesis Manual that
is published by the Grad Studies Office. This means that your thesis will
need to have been reviewed and signed off by your advisor and both committee
members in advance of this GSO deadline.
Deposit Thesis in Bookstore and ENST Office…………Check
ENST Office for deadline
Once you have made all of the necessary adjustments to your thesis as required
by the GSO Thesis Reader, you will need to submit your thesis to the Titan
bookstore for binding. You must ensure that a hard bound copy of your thesis
is also printed for the ENST office and that you have personally made special
arrangements to have the bookstore send a copy directly to the ENST office
when it is ready (deadline generally set for the last day of exam week, but
confirm the precise date with the ENST office).
What is due for the ENST Office by the deadline?
• Notification of Completion form (form available on form page)
• Receipt that proves you have submitted your thesis for binding at the
bookstore (expect the binding process to take at least one month) and confirmation
that a copy will be sent to the ENST office upon completion of binding process.

Grad Checks It is required that students
intending to graduate apply at least one semester prior
to commencement. There is a fee involved. Students
must be classified in order to apply for a Grad Check.
Go to GSO website to confirm deadline for applying
for graduation.
Grad Check Update If you have already
submitted a Grad Check, but will not graduate when
you intended, you will need to submit a Grad Update
form to the Admissions Office before you will be able
to register and maintain continuous enrollment. There
is a fee required and it must be paid to the Cashier’s
Office in University Hall. Forms can be found in the
Graduate Studies Office (MH-103) or with Admissions
and Records (LH-114). No faculty/advisor signatures
are required, only the student’s, for this form.
GS-700 Students who have completed
all Study Plan coursework (including enrollment in
Project or Thesis) and are continuing work on their
Project or Thesis must continue to enroll in Graduate
Studies 700. Forms to enroll in GS-700 through adjunct
enrollment are available or directly from the Graduate
Studies Office (MH-103) or from the ENST on-line Forms
page.
A student may enroll in GS 700 through University
Extension for ONLY one semester if he or she is working
on a project and for ONLY two semesters if he or she
is working on a thesis. Once a student has met the
GS-700 enrollment limit through Extended Education
his or her registration status will be changed through
Admissions and Records enabling enrollment during a
regular CSUF registration window such as TITAN 1 or
TITAN 2. Please note: before you can register, you
must update your grad check to your new graduation
date. Should you have difficulty registering contact
the Associate Coordinator or the ENST Secretary.
Summer Graduation
Summer candidates must have their Grad Check
current and apply for a “Petition for Summer
Completion.” This form is available on-line,
but can also be picked up at Graduate Studies (MH-103)
and must be signed by the Project/Thesis advisor and
then the Coordinator.
Special Note - International Students
(only): If you wish to complete
your graduate requirements in the summer, you
must register for a special GS 700 course through
Extended Education. Contact the ENST Associate
Coordinator or the Graduate Studies Office
for assistance.
