    • ACACIA
    • SIGMA TAU DELTA
    • AS YOU LIKE SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY

    • ACACIA is a social group for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to obtain their Masters of Arts and/or PhD. We offer meetings with feature speakers, usually CSUF faculty, who describe their own educational journeys and experiences, as well as their current research projects. Students obtain invaluable information that will facilitate their own educational experience and help to build their academic vitae. Undergraduates or graduates in good standing may apply. We sponsor an annual conference in the early Spring with a special keynote speaker each year. A call for papers is distributed throughout the CSU system and all students and faculty are encouraged to submit their critical essays and original works of fiction or poetry. For more information on being a leader in this club, or to complete an application form, please visit our website: www.csufacacia.com

    • SIGMA TAU DELTA is the International English Honor Society. Sigma Tau Delta's central purpose is to confer distinction upon students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature. One of the largest members of the Association of College Honor Societies, Sigma Tau Delta has close to 600 chapters, 700 faculty sponsors, and inducts approximately 7,000 members annually. Our members have the opportunity to be recognized for their outstanding achievements, enrich their education, help them make career choices, and advance their careers. The organization offers many opportunities for its members: stoles and medallions at graduation, scholarships within the US and abroad, and publication as well as presentation possibilities at regional and national levels. The greatest advantage is associating with other Sigma Tau Delta members on the local, regional, national, and international levels who share your interest in literature and the English language (from http://www.english.org, where further information may be obtained). The Alpha Delta Zeta chapter at CSUF offers poetry readings, meetings, a newsletter with member contributions, and an end-of-the-year reception open to all undergraduates where graduating members are recognized. Members also attend social events such as plays and the Renaissance Faire. Undergraduate and graduate applicants must have completed two college level English classes at the two hundred level and above, and have a 3.0 overall GPA. Visit our website for an application form. Email info@csufsigma.org if you would like to subscribe to receive information on chapter activities and events, or apply for leadership. At the end of the semester, we will be electing new officers; please contact the faculty advisor, Dr. Lana Dalley (ldalley@fullerton.edu), if you are interested in serving in a leadership position.

    • AS YOU LIKE SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY is dedicated to the growth, enlightenment, and celebration of everything Shakespeare, from Shakespeare’s life and times to his plays and poems. The club’s activities include roundtable discussions of Shakespearean plays or themes over coffee or dinner, attendance of local Shakespearean performances and a follow-up dinner discussion, weekday and/or weekend administrative meetings, an annual High Tea that includes a keynote speaker of eminence in the Shakespearean field, and an Annual As We Like Shakespearean Journal--your opportunity to achieve academic publication of your creative or critical writings. Membership is open to all California State University, Fullerton undergraduates and graduate students in good standing. Opportunities for Officer/Leadership positions are available to members; please email csuf.shakespeare@gmail.com by April 15, if you would like to be considered. For questions, send an email message to that address or visit our website: http://asyoulike.csufacacia.com/.
