Learning Goals

  • To develop knowledge and appreciation of Chicana and Chicano experience from an interdisciplinary perspective, focusing on the social sciences, humanities, and the arts;
  • To gain knowledge and understanding of the role of critical theory and perspectives to understand phenomena, including issues of race, class and gender, and politics;
  • To understand diverse viewpoints and experiences through group communication and collaborative team work;
  • To understand how to bridge academic content and practice through service learning.
