students in DC

Our program offers students an opportunity to earn college credit on-site in Washington, DC from courses taught and supervised by CSU faculty. These courses are designed to help students get the most out of their experiences while still progressing towards graduation.

In the Spring Semester, students must enroll in 12 units, which include 6 internship units and two specially designed upper division courses that incorporate the culture, history, and professional networks available only in DC.

Students in the summer program enroll in 6 units, including 3 units of internship.

Prior to finalizing participation in the program, students must meet with their major advisor to discuss whether and how Cal State DC courses can be used to meet major requirements.  All students may use the Cal State DC courses as general electives to meet the 120 unit requirement for a bachelor’s degree.  (Graduate students will be enrolled in a section of HUM 599 instead of POSC 322.)
