Brief
biography: I have been a lecturer in Asian American Studies at CSUF since 1997. In addition to my teaching duties, I was active as a faculty advisor to the Asian Pacific Islander Student Association from 1997-2007. In 2001, I was the recipient of the Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member award given by the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. With the assistance of the Nursing Distance Education program, I was also given the opportunity to develop the first online courses offered by CSUF's Asian American Studies program. I received a B.A. degree in Communications (with a mass media studies concentration) and a History minor from CSU Los Angeles. Afterwards, I earned a M.A. in Asian American Studies from UCLA. Upon completion of my course work at UCLA, I was awarded a grant that enabled me to develop and co-teach the first Asian American music course offered by UCLA's Asian American Studies Center. Finally, in my spare time, I tend to engage in any activity related to music (e.g. listening to, reading about, making, etc.).
