Library. Helps you understand the difference between primary and secondary
sources. Lots of useful practical advice on conducting library research,
particularly the vexing problems of finding and using reference sources
(some of which are online).
MLA
Guidelines for Documenting Sources--Most American Studies professors
will expect you to use the MLA Style Sheet as a guide to citing sources.
This excellent guide prepared by the University of Illinois English Department's
Writer's Workshop gives specific examples and explains general principles
for all types of sources. It also includes guidance on how to cite materials
you find on the Internet.
