Research Interests and Publications

Currently revising dissertation (for possible publication), "'Eradicating This Menace': Homophobia and Anti-Communism in Congress, 1947-1954," a critical study of the US Senate's witch-hunt against "homosexuals and other moral perverts" that paralleled the era's McCarthyite anti-communist purges [see abstract and resume at http://e3.uci.edu/01w/28005/RWBresume.html].

Recent publications and awards:

"'Homo-Hunting' in the Early Cold War," Nebraska History (Fall 2003), 118-32. Winner of the 2004 James L. Sellers Award (awarded annually by the Nebraska State Historical Society).
