possible publication), "'Eradicating This Menace':
Homophobia and Anti-Communism in Congress, 1947-1954," a
critical study of the US Senate's witch-hunt against "homosexuals
and other moral perverts" that paralleled the era's
McCarthyite anti-communist purges [see abstract and
