SERVICES

Peer Advisement: consists of academic, career, and co-curricular activities
Referrals: Counseling, community agencies
Scholarships: Scholarship information will be made available for both on and off campus awards
General Campus Information: The AARC front desk and intake area will provide general campus information
African American clubs/organizations/Greek organization and associations support: Space will be available for student organization office locations. The AARC will also provide programming, advisement, and marketing support to recognized clubs and organizations by primarily assisting with the planning and marketing of events.


PROGRAMS

Workshop series: The AARC will work in partnership with on and off campus constituents in order to schedule speakers, seminars, and workshops focused on the topics relevant to the African American community
Mentoring: The AARC will work in partnership with the faculty and staff to expand the current mentoring program, “Mentor Project/F.I.R.E.” program that exists within the African American Faculty Staff Association
Outreach: The AARC will work with the University Outreach and with Colleges and Departments in efforts to recruit African American students. The AARC will also work with student groups to serve as peer mentors who will visit local high schools, thereby establishing a network and pathway for future African American students to join the Cal State Fullerton Family.
Graduation: The AARC will develop partnerships with student groups, the Faculty and Staff Association and the Multicultural Leadership Center to coordinate the African American Student Recognition ceremony for students and their family members.

The African-American resource center works conjunctively with the University, African-American clubs/organizations and the community to sponsor the following:
• Student Organization Cultural Nights
• Spring and Fall Mixers
• Kwanzaa Celebration
• Black History Month activities
• Advisement/referrals
• Tutoring
• Outreach
• Informative Workshops
• Events
